Over the last six years the Vocabulary and Semantic Services Interest Group has provided a unique platform for semantic researchers and experts, operational semantic repository managers, ontologists etc. to connect and discuss issues and possible solutions, and share knowledge and latest developments in the domain.
During P16, VSSIG introduced lightning talks, training tips and latest semantic news and aspires to engage member participation in P17. P16 also started off a discussion looking into tools for evaluating the FAIRness of semantic resources and investigating the FAIR semantic recommendations as criteria for evaluation, which will be continued in the current session, seeking the valuable feedback of its members.
This session is organised in three parts:
1- an introductory set of short presentations of ongoing and new activities of WG and TG within the VSSIG
2- a lightning talk session during which we invite VSSIG participants, relevant RDA IG/WG as well as external initiatives to present their work on semantics and semantic interoperability.
3- a discussion session on the FAIR Semantics recommendations and their practical implementation regarding the required assessment of Semantic Artefacts. Please indicate the breakout slot (s) that would suit your meeting
