    Short description
Contemporary research – particularly when addressing the most significant, transdisciplinary research challenges – cannot be done effectively without a range of skills relating to data. Providing relevant training in these skills to data scientists, data librarians, data managers, data analysts, research administrators, infrastructure providers, developers, researchers and others is an essential step to implementing the goals of the RDA.

The groups represented at this meeting will discuss the exchange of information about existing developments and initiatives and promotion of training/education to manage and handle research data throughout the data lifecycle; development of taxonomies of skills in this area and the results of direct training events in this area for a variety of different roles including communities not usually brought into these conversations such as those from High Income Disadvantaged areas.

    Target audiece
This meeting will be of benefit to:
those directly involved in teaching and training data skills,
policy developers working on increasing capacity and enabling data skills,
    funders with similar requirements,
    Librarians working with research data,
    representatives from Higher Education Institutes.
Any of the above working in urban, or High Income Disadvantaged areas will find this of specific interest.
