Meeting objectives:
We have been quite active since our last group touch base session
Now seems a good time to provide an update on
- The ongoing OGC-WMO-UNESCO-WHO Water Quality Interoperability Experiment
- Planned work on WaterML2.0 related standards
- The evolution from OGC/ISO standard “Observations & Measurements” to “Observations, measurements and samples” (OMS) and how it propagates to W3C:SOSA
- Our joint work between OGC/ISO OMS and RDA I-ADOPT
All this targetting a collection of Standards and Best Practices to help share water data in the FAIRest way possible.
- We’ll also introduce some major research projects applying those practices (sometimes contributing to them) such as
- Water4All in Europe
- OneWater PEPR in France
- Cataloguing monitoring data in experimental research catchments in UK
- and many others

Brief introduction describing the activities and scope of the group:
The Global Water Information IG is the RDA sister group of OGC Hydro Domain Working Group (https://external.ogc.org/twiki_public/HydrologyDWG/WebHome). Both groups target the creation and update of Standards and Best Practices to exchange water related data.
They have an overlap of members but also allow to put in interaction people from the research domain, non research public organizations in charge of water resources monitoring and private organizations. Which is crucial as water flows regardless of human organizations artefacts.
