    Dear Nichola, dear all
I guess that some of My colleagues (Maria, Jan-Willem and/or Christian, in copy) may be interested to talk about how sensitive data is classified in a different context
It could be, for a part of the talk, a highlight of the categorisation system of EOSC-Life that should be applied in several context, and the actual limits of this system and how to improve it
A focus could also be done on legal issue in a “legal patchwork” like Europe
    Your thought?
    Best regards
    Romain

Objet: [sensitivedata] July meeting summary and call for Plenary speakers
    Hello Sensitive Data IG,
Thanks to those who attended the July community meeting, it was a fantastic discussion.
The meeting attendees agreed that for the moment we will not be recording meetings, so that attendees can talk freely about how their organizations handle sensitive data. After each meeting we will share a summary of the discussion that does not link comments to particular attendees or organizations. You can find the most recent summary attached.
At the Plenary in October we will be holding the session “Sensitive Data classifications and protocols across regions.” Two of the co-chairs will speak about this topic from an Australian perspective, but we are looking for another speaker who can talk about how sensitive data is classified in a different context – is anyone in the group interested in speaking, or suggesting a speaker?
    Thanks,
    Nichola

    Betreff: I-ADOPT recommendations
    Dear all,
thanks for all for providing suggestions – Sirko and I consolidated the text and have sent it now to Bridget Walker from the RDA secretariat. See the attached document and below the text for the recommendation card:
    The challenge:
Lack of a common framework to enable interoperability between diverse terminologies used to represent observable properties/variables and provide the necessary level of detail needed for seamless data discovery and integration.
    The solution:
The I-ADOPT Interoperability Framework is a set of guidelines based on a simple non-domain specific ontology that supports the decomposition of complex observable properties into their essential atomic parts represented through the concepts in FAIR terminologies.
    The Impact:
The I-ADOPT Interoperability Framework is a substantial contribution to enabling the interoperability of terminologies, within and across domains without sacrificing any prior efforts. It serves as a common layer of abstraction through which concepts from different terminologies can be systematically aligned and extended, as needed .
The annotation of observational data with these interoperable concepts supports the findability and reusability of datasets across repositories facilitating the federation of data systems. It represents the variables’ context and provides the level of detail needed to identify suitable datasets and to connect different datasets with related observations. The I-ADOPT Interoperability Framework will facilitate the development of tools to enable researchers to describe and find their data more systematically.
I hope you are all happy with this.
    Cheers,
    Barbara

Objet : [fair_maturity] FAIR data maturity model WG: Prioritisation & Scoring – Invitation to contribute!
Dear members of the FAIR data maturity model Working Group,
Over the past month and a half, we have had lively and fruitful discussions about the indicators and their prioritisation. However, we have not yet reached a consensus. As a consequence, to facilitate this process, we have put together a quick survey where we solely ask your opinion about the priority of each and every current 53 indicators.
Your answers will allow us to better understand and gather all different views, but also allow us to propose a final set of priorities for the next workshop in Helsinki.
Please share with us your opinion about the prioritisation of indicators[1]. We thank you in advance for devoting 5 minutes of your time to the survey. No account nor registration is need.
As a next step towards a common set of assessment criteria, we started to explore a scoring mechanism relying on the FAIRness indicators and their prioritisation. The underlying idea is to assess and objectively score the implementation level of the FAIR principles.
We have created a thread in GitHub[2] to discuss this matter. We invite all members of the Working Group to comment on that proposal on GitHub and to suggest changes in the approach.
Also, don’t hesitate to comment on any other aspect of the work of the editorial team!
    Kind regards,
    The editorial team
