Co-authors sought for WG Final Report

Dear Working Group members and participants,
As we have discussed at past plenaries, the final report of the International Materials Resource Registries Working Group describes the demonstration of a federated registry system as a means of discovering useful data resources for materials science research. This effort included the definition of an XML Schema for describing these resources which in turn leverage a definition of a vocabulary for Materials Science topics and techniques. We submitted this report the RDA Technical Advisory Board, and they have asked if the author list could be expanded to include broader representation across RDA’s global membership to reflect broad consensus for this work.
In that spirit and to ensure that everyone’s contributions are recognized, we are encouraging anyone who participated in the WG discussions, provided input to the schema or vocabulary, or otherwise leveraged the registry or vocabulary for subsequent work to join as a co-author. Once the final report is accepted officially by the RDA board, it will receive a DOI so that it can be referenced.
So to share in the credit for this important RDA output, please respond either to me or to any of the WG chairs. If possible, we’d like to revise the author list by the time of the next plenary.
    Many thanks for your participation,
    Ray Plante
International Materials Resource Registries Working Group
