    Dear all,
in the past one and a half year, after announcing the new adoption of the Collection API, we’ve spend some time on polishing the code, fixing (mostly minor) bugs and creating a proper documentation in order to lower the barrier of integrating our implementation of the Research Data Collections Recommendation into your research data management ecosystem. Today, we like to announce the result of our work with Collection API 1.1.0
    The most noteworthy changes are:
    – Fixed an issue allowing circular collections
    – Fixed an issue leaving artifacts in the database after deleting member items
    – Fixed checking for type restriction in collections
    – Fixed an issue with setting the correct dateUpdated property of member items
    – Collection property maxExpansionDepth is now configurable
    – Added a (very basic), integrated visualization of registered collections and members using D3 (http://:
    /static/overview.html)
    – Added detailed documentation (https://kit-dm-documentation.readthedocs.io/en/latest/)
    – Added interactive tutorial (https://www.katacoda.com/kitdm/scenarios/collection-api)
    – Added DockerHub integration (https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/kitdm/collection-api)
Version 1.1.0 can be directly accessed here: https://github.com/kit-data-manager/collection-api/releases/tag/v1.1.0
Currently, we are working on integrating the Collection API into a FAIR Digital Object Testbed dealing with more than 300 collections containing 83.000+ members and to make the Collection API a part of a national metadata collaboration platform with the goal of harmonizing metadata handling in research centers across Germany.
Please let us know, if you also have adoption stories for our Collection API, as we would love to see that we were able to help.
In addition, still applies, if you face any issues, if you have ideas for improvement, or if you like to contribute, please use the issue tracker or contact me directly.
    Regards,
    Thomas
