    RDA/US leadership,
It is a pleasure to announce the recruitment of Dr. Leslie McIntosh as Executive Director of RDA/US. In the upcoming years, Leslie will help expand RDA/US as a sustainable, successful RDA region. She will join the current RDA/US team to develop new programs, funding sources and efforts as well as working closely with international colleagues in RDA/Global.
Leslie comes to us from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she most recently served as Director for the Center for Biomedical Informatics with a faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology and Immunology. Through her work, Leslie has been successful in achieving an extensive research support portfolio, enabling her to optimize data management processes to provide meaningful decision support for effective and efficient health care delivery and research.
Leslie has led the implementation of software and data services for over 600 researchers across more than 80 institutions. She has managed multi-million dollar annual budgets and played a crucial role in relationship building within her own teams, as well as establishing partnerships with private companies and public institutions. Devoted to helping future generations understand the importance of data sharing, Leslie has mentored many early career data scientists and provided guidance to company startups regarding the full life-cycle of data needs.
We are delighted that Leslie is expanding her role in the RDA/US community from her start with us as a member, PI, group lead, RDA Recommendation adopter, and Data Share fellow mentor. We believe her skills, energy and enthusiasm will be a great asset to the Executive Director role and we look forward to Leslie’s help in our community growth and sustainability, both for RDA globally and within the U.S. Please join me in welcoming Leslie to this important role. We look forward to her official start in mid-August!
    Sincerely,
    Fran Berman
