At the upcoming plenary in Philadelphia, VRE IG [1] and OD2I IG [2]
organize a joint session to explore the role of VREs in implementing
and executing data to knowledge value chains in research.
We are seeking lightning talks (approx. 5 minutes) that provide
theoretical or practical insights into this subject. If such a talk is
of interest to you, please contact Markus Stocker
(***@***.***) with a very short abstract. Speakers will
also be invited for a panel discussion.

About VRE IG. As VREs, also called science gateways or virtual labs,
are increasingly being used to support a more dynamic approach to
collaborative research, VRE IG aims to create “building blocks” of
common data infrastructures and specific “data bridges” to enable
online sharing and processing of data.
About OD2I IG. From Observational Data to Information (OD2I) IG
explores data, information, and knowledge in research infrastructures,
specifically the distinction between data and information; the
processes that evolve observational data into information; as well as
processes for acquiring and curating information and knowledge.
