Dear members of the IGAD Community of Practice,
We would like to close the year by sending a quick update on latest events and new ideas.

On 30 November, the IGAD Community was featured in the RDA Community Cross-fertilisation Carousel event(s).
The lighting talks, summarizing the Community Cross-fertilisation Workshop series, provided an overview of the challenges, solutions, initiatives, and actions for the RDA community for each thematic workshop.
Piotr Zaborowski and Valeria Pesce presented a summary for the IGAD community, respectively in the 6am and the 5pm sessions.

Among the ideas proposed for the near future, based also on feedback gathered through a survey last year and two workshops this year, was the creation of new Working Groups. For one in particular, very early discussions have started: a Working Group on Data Ethics in Agriculture. Anybody interested can contact Alan Moss (alan.moss@usda.gov).

Read the summary of the Carousel above to see which challenges and ideas we highlighted for our community and come forward with you own priorities and proposals for the future, especially for Working Groups in which you would like to collaborate with experts from other institutions.

Thank you and best wishes for the holidays and the New Year from the co-chairs!
