RE: [rda-datafabric-ig] Architecture or Not?

Greetings everyone,
John Henry’s questions are both insightful and important… and worth further discussion. I was among the panel members who responded, and believe my reply has been captured in some other emails here too. (Trying to keep track of the energized discussion!).
My response was that the parts of the architecture being developed might be viewed as ‘component parts’ – so, yes, this plug in aspect.
The applications, technologies, models, being pursued via RDA can help frame and advance our overall data architecture; and, additionally, the ‘component parts’ may also provide a menu that various efforts might select from. (so, yes to John Henry’s 2nd question too, perhaps… )
RE: the NDS meeting, I believe both Beth and Kathy’s presentations were very well received!
I will clutter everyone’s inbox shortly, with a few other thoughts, as John Henry’s questions might also inform some of our discussion @ the upcoming meeting too. They can help bring us together in the vision and activity.
best wishes, jane ((apologies if this is a dup. message, but it seems my first message is not showing up).
