Hi everyone,
First of all, it was great seeing all of you (both F2F and virtually) at the RDA Plenary session!
As announced earlier as well, and following the recommendation by RDA to ensure a rotation of Group chairs, our plan is to step down from co-chairs by the end of this year. It has been an extremely productive and positive experience, and we will continue being active members of this group, but we also feel that we need to provide the space for other members of our Community to grow.
As such, we’d like to encourage anyone that is interested in taking up the role of the RDA Data Discovery Interest Group co-chair to send us an email directly (or to the wider group if you feel comfortable) with an expression of interest, no later than April 10th 2023. The goal is to have at least three co-chairs so in case we have more expressions of interest, we will prioritize them based on professional stage (early careers will be favoured), overall engagement to the group (having already an active role will be preferred) and gender and geographic diversity. Also, we plan to work together with the new chairs until the end of this year, so that there is an overall smooth transition.
