Call for Participation in a new Working Group on Image Sharing Practices in Cultural Heritage – respond by *10 March 2023*

    Are you a professional working in the Cultural Heritage sector, interested in exploring how your institution or research area could improve the findability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of the digital images you collect and create? The Digital Repository of Ireland is opening a call for participation for a short-term Working Group, which will meet from now to May 2023, to review and refine a set of recommendations for aligning practices across the Cultural Heritage sector with the FAIR principles for data sharing. The DRI is particularly keen to add members to the Working Group from currently underrepresented regions: South America, Australasia and Africa, though any interested parties should get in touch.
    These recommendations are being produced as part of the WorldFAIR Project [https://worldfair-project.eu/], a major global collaboration between partners from thirteen countries across Africa, Australasia, Europe, and North and South America.  WorldFAIR will advance the implementation of the FAIR data principles, in particular those for Interoperability, by developing a cross-domain interoperability framework and recommendations for FAIR assessment in a set of eleven disciplines or cross-disciplinary research areas. The DRI is leading the WorldFAIR case study for Cultural Heritage.
    The DRI invites expressions of interest from (but not limited to) the following areas of work:
    Librarians
    Archivists
    Museum professionals
    Researchers
    Digital Preservationists
    Data Stewards
    IT Professionals
    Digital Asset Managers
    Industry
    Interested parties should contact Beth Knazook at b.knazook@ria.ie for more information as soon as possible, and no later than *Friday 10 March*.
    The WG has already met once to provide input on the following report: https://worldfair-project.eu/2023/02/24/deliverable-13-1-cultural-heritage-mapping-report-practices-and-policies-supporting-cultural-heritage-image-sharing-platforms/
    The expanded WG will meet again 28 March at 10:00 UTC or 29 March at 18:00 UTC (2 meeting times to accommodate different time zones) to offer input on our next deliverable, the FAIR-aligning recommendations report.
