Hello – My apologies for cross-posting. We wanted to be sure RDA group Chairs and group members received this information about an upcoming webinar specifically designed to provide tips and strategies for promoting project outputs. This webinar is designed for RDA Working and Interest Group Members, but anyone interested in this topic is also invited and welcome to attend.
Please register and attend “How To Get Attention for Research Project Outputs ” webinar on 21 Oct 2021 – 15:00 UTC presented by Jennifer Gibson.
    Register here.
RDA Working and Interest Groups commit a great deal of time and expertise to develop recommendations that can significantly impact research data practices, policies, and systems. But, capturing attention from colleagues all over the world, who have the power to act on these insights and effect change, is a whole other job, often referred to as Social Marketing. Social Marketing has been an important strategy in public health promotion for more than 30 years and, as we’ll discuss in the webinar, has significant potential for helping to advance change in the research community.
Join us and our featured speaker, Jennifer Gibson (Executive Director at Dryad and former Head of Open Research Communication and founding Head of Marketing and Communications at eLife), as we discuss engagement strategies used in research to support and embrace new approaches – specifically the recommendations, frameworks, and proposals that emerge from the RDA groups. We will explore key steps in defining, prioritizing, and reaching audiences that most need to hear about the efforts of your Working and/or Interest Groups. We will also talk about how to frame your offering in a way that resonates with the intended audience, how best to reach them, and how to build an action plan for getting the attention and engagement you need.
