    Dear VSSIG members,
    +with apologies for cross-posting+
You are receiving this message to inform you of a prospective new RDA Working Group on the topic of making mappings and crosswalks more FAIR. As discussed at the RDA Plenary 21 ‘Birds of a Feather’ session, we believe there is a desire from the community to set up a Working Group focusing on this issue, aiming, among other things, to provide a more standardised and FAIR way of working with and sharing/publishing mappings and crosswalks across different communities.
To begin the activity of this proposed Working Group (which is receiving support from the RDA TIGER project), we are inviting those with an interest and experience in this topic to join us for a kick-off meeting to discuss the Working Group’s overall aims. These will be surmised in the Group’s Case Statement (currently in draft format, available here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XVJYxLin7w0DgAt01bfB188oPOdgfBHg7Fwo…), which we invite you to peruse before the meeting.
To indicate your availability for this initial meeting, we invite you to fill out this Doodle poll for dates/times over the 19-28 March period. Please note the times available are to accommodate those based in Europe/Africa and Americas/Pacific. Poll: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/ep9p75Va. If you could submit your response by the end of the day, Monday March 11 that would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
Ryan O’Connor (on behalf of proposed co-chairs Yann Le Franc, Tommi Suominen, Joonas Kesäniemi)
