RDA Plenary 22: Plans for group engagement

    Dear Reproducibility IG members,
Following the planning meeting held on the 1st February, we (the co-chairs) have taken the decision not to submit a session for the next RDA plenary taking place in May. Whilst there is certainly interest in discussing reproducibility and we received some excellent suggestions of where to focus our efforts at the last plenary, we thought that the online format of the next plenary isn’t necessarily the best way to foster discussion within the group about reproducibility.
Instead we would like to use the next plenary as an opportunity to share out knowledge and prompt discussion via emails to the group. This will allow us to include everyone in the conversation and not just those registered to attend the plenary. It will also allow us to engage in the discussion asynchronously rather than have to make time to attend as specific session. By coordinating with the plenary dates we hope that you will be able to make the time to engage and will have RDA work at the top of your minds. The co-chairs will be planning the topics to share with the group during the plenary fortnight over the coming months.
In the meantime, please feel free to use this list to reach out to the group with any queries, observations or resources on reproducibility.
    With best wishes,
Reproducibility IG co-chairs (Lauren Cadwallader, Mandy Gooch, Tom Honeyman, Limor Peer)

Thanks for that question to the group Lauren,
I wanted to just introduce our group of reproducibility AI-tool makers to
    the IG.
    https://scicrunch.org/ASWG
We each have a tool or are working towards one that detects/flags some
aspect of reproducibility. Some of these tools are commercial while some
are lab-made and some are more commonly used or have a published paper,
while others don’t. They were all independently created and different
assumptions were made when they were created. We have used 8 of these tools
in a single pipeline to score COVID preprints during the pandemic (
    https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-020-01203-7 ).
