Hello RDA in Ireland members [I hope this message is reaching you!],
I’m pleased to share news of an upcoming event to explore and develop engagement approaches for communities in Ireland that have not engaged with Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) to date, to encourage uptake and ensure appropriate support for community-specific needs and priorities. This event is part of a larger body of work informing the National PID Engagement Strategy and Roadmap commissioned by the National Open Research Forum (NORF), and lead by MoreBrains Cooperative.
This full day event (in person in Dublin in the morning, online/hybrid in the afternoon) is co-located with the RDA Virtual Plenary 22 and hosted by the Digital Repository of Ireland, NORF and MoreBrains.
Registration information is available on the DRI website https://dri.ie/events/empowering-an-irish-national-pid-strategy/ and through the RDA Plenary programme https://www.rd-alliance.org/rdas-22nd-plenary-co-located-events/.
There is no fee for this event, whether or not you have signed up for the Plenary.
If you are an RDA in Ireland member that would like to participate in this event, either online or in person, we are looking for short presentations (5-7min) on the following topics:
– PIDs in research (examples)<div>
– Organisational PID strategies (current or planned ideas)
– Is there a PID for that? (where is persistence needed?)
…or suggestions welcome!
Please circulate widely in your networks. We look forward to an engaging programme!
Best,
Beth Knazook (she/her)
