Dear all,
for various reasons, there has been no activity in the Kernel
Information group over the past months. Among other obvious ones, one
major reason for this is that all co-chairs are long-term busy with
other projects in other fields and interests have shifted considerably.
We have discussed what this means for the group and us as co-chairs of
it and concluded that it would do the group no justice to continue with
a state of overall inactivity; RDA does not need inactive groups lying
around. So at this point, we would rather formally close down the group
than let it die slowly due to disuse.
As co-chairs, we would like to thank you all for your commitment to the
group and its theme. We will inform RDA of the group closure and wish
you all the best for your future activities.

Hi,
I’d like to thank Tobias for representing the chairs in this message. The PID Kernel Information WG work remains an important contribution to the landscape, and there may be momentum in the future to examine its operationalization as was the work of this IG. The inability of all of us to be in the same room periodically has not helped.
I personally look forward to continued research connections with colleagues in this space; international perspectives and problem solving in science are so important and meaningful at this time.
