    ________________________________
Last year, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) recognized the pressing need for a coordinated, campus-wide strategy to manage research data and sharing support. With the stringent requirements of the NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy in mind, the OVCR has committed to ensuring investigators have access to the technologies and resources necessary to fulfill funder requirements. OVCR has established the Research Data Management Core (RDMC), which is charged to integrate and articulate existing research data infrastructure at UNC and reinforce the roughly 50% of UNC researchers who rely on funding from institutions requiring compliance to NIH guidelines.
To do this, RDMC has prioritized the recruitment of a Health Sciences Data Steward, who will develop and deploy resources, services, and training to clinical and health sciences researchers. Recognizing the complex research data management and sharing needs of researchers in these domains, RDMC is seeking candidates with demonstrated expertise in research data management, sharing, and curation, with additional specialized knowledge and experience addressing the critical issues of managing and sharing health-related data.
We are in new waters and if you choose to work with us, you will help build an ecosystem of research data infrastructure that will set the standard for the country, given time. We are committed to building an intelligent system of support, services, training, and resource-provision that is resilient enough to support complex institutions. If that sounds like your kind of puzzle, we would love to have you on our team.
