    DMP Common Standards WG

Brief introduction describing the activities and scope of the group
The Exposing DMPs WG provides a forum for exchanging information about existing developments and initiatives related to data management planning. The group is surveying community perspectives and practices around the selective sharing of DMP content, to coordinate and improve data management for researchers and the broader community.
The DMP Common Standards WG has developed an application profile that allows the expression of information from traditional DMPs in a machine-actionable way. It allows for automatic exchange, integration, and validation of information provided in DMPs.A JSON schema that corresponds to the version 1.0 of the DMP Common Standard is available here:

    Meeting objectives
This session will be offered twice: Tuesday 7 April  1 PM-2:30 UTC  & Thursday 9 April 4 AM UTC

    Collaborative Notes for 07-04-2020 & 09-04-2020 Link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-60rKrdQGw8WyufYvhCa8JpF6T3CGsDOlDleNr…

Building upon the recent publication of the common data model for the creation of machine actionable DMPs produced by the RDA working group on DMP Common Standards, many projects have emerged to harness the emerging capabilities of machine actionable DMPs.   In parallel the Exposing DMP WG has surveyed community perspectives and practices around the selective sharing of DMP content, to coordinate and improve data management for researchers who write DMPs. The WG has drafted recommendations to inform practice, with a focus on making the most of the DMP as a means for documenting how FAIR principles are applied.
This session offers highlights of current work in this area, with links to pre-recorded talks and Q&A with speakers able to attend a session in person.  We will then consider the practice recommendations, review the prospects for incorporating the Common Standard and machine actionable DMP workflows within institutional settings. Finally we will offer feedback on a new disciplinary DMP WG case statement.
