Easing the trauma of telecons
Teleconferences or web conferences are always difficult. This

Nonetheless, they are a necessary evil in trying to make a global organisation of enthusiasts work together. RDA currently provides three teleconferencing tools: GoTo Meeting, Flash Meeting, and Big Blue Button. All have their pros and cons.

Who puts the "Single" into SSO?
Like standards, SSO systems are a case where two is one too many. I know several groups currently working on federated ID for European researchers. I hope there will be communication between them during Summer 2014. Without it, there is a real risk that European researchers will need several "single" sign on ids.

RDA France meeting, 20 June 2014, Paris
Last Friday it was my pleasure to present RDA at the national French RDA meeting organised in Paris at the MENESR (Ministère de l’Education Nationale, de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche).
The meeting aimed to increase French involvement in the RDA processes as well as to receive feedback from French players on getting involved in RDA and how RDA could embrace activity in France further.
