Research infrastructures are increasingly requested to establish global data policies and to manage and share their data, with FAIR data and data management plans as core elements among many others. The RDA offers a forum for discussion, identification and development of these policies as well as solutions.
Due to the global nature of RDA’s community, engagement with the RDA helps research infrastructures ensure that they are providing services that are compatible with those used by the international data community.
Collaboration between Infrastructure Providers and RDA could include:
- Encouraging staff and colleagues to join RDA and become involved in and/or create Working and Interest groups
- Promoting relevant RDA Recommendations and encouraging implementation of them within your organisation (see also: DANS Adoption Story)
- Encouraging attendance from staff and colleagues to attend RDA Plenary Meetings
Industries also have the option to fund various RDA programs and activities, such as:
- Joining RDA as an organisational member and helping influence RDA’s direction while also assisting in the implementation and adoption of RDA’s Recommendations
- Sponsorship of RDA Plenary Meetings (link to plenary page)
- Fund a new RDA Working or Interest Group that has an industry-related focus
- Supporting and/or establishing Data Expert/Fellow/Early Career Programmes
- Establishing RDA data awards/scholarships
