RDA is an international volunteer member-based organisation and as such encourages the initiative and support of its members across the globe to animate their community on a national level. RDA Europe national node are part of the RDA Europe support programme whose aim is to interact with researchers and innovators in the local language, offering them a platform for exchange of information pertinent to the RDA and their activities and in strict compliance with RDA's guiding principles of Openness, Transparency, Consensus-based, Community driven, Harmonisation and Non-profit. The national pages should not be interpreted as an official representation of the Research Data Alliance in any country or any organisation unless this is specifically stated.

El propósito del Nodo Español es el de actuar de enlace entre la comunidad de RDA y aquellos miembros que actualmente forman parte de grupos de interés o de algún proyecto relacionado con los datos de investigación en abierto.

Le invitamos, también, a que participe activamente a compartir aquellas ideas y sugerencias que crea que puedan ser de interés para este grupo y la comunidad de RDA.

 

¿Quiénes somos?

El Nodo Español surge del proyecto europeo RDA Europe 4.0, el cual aborda la necesidad de compartir, de manera abierta e interoperable, los datos de investigación y la necesidad construir vínculos sociales, técnicos e interdisciplinarios para permitir tal intercambio en una escala global. Con este objetivo, la Research Data Alliance Europe 4.0. ha creado una red consolidada de nodos nacionales europeos con el fin de convertirse en la pieza central de la estrategia europea del Open Science y llegar dar soporte a las distintos asuntos que puedan resultar de especial relevancia dentro del Mercado Único Digital. 

Cada Nodo Europeo de RDA tiene como objetivo:

  •  Apoyar a la investigación de datos a nivel nacional / local, promoviendo la visión, principios y resultados de RDA.
  • Fomentar sinergias con organizaciones Nacionales, Europeas y Globales en acciones concretas para facilitar la adopción de las recomendaciones y principios de RDA;
  • Actuar como un punto de contacto central entre los profesionales de datos nacionales / regionales y RDA, e interactuar con los organismos nacionales de financiación de la investigación;
  • Contribuir a la definición de políticas de datos europeas;
  • Contribuir a la definición de la estrategia de RDA y participar en los procesos de RDA.

El Nodo Español está coordinado por el Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación y financiado por la Comisión Europea.  El objetivo principal a lo largo del proyecto RDA EU4 será fomentar la colaboración entre representantes del sector privado y del ámbito de la investigación. Para ello, se organizarán varias actividades tales como eventos públicos, talleres y reuniones de networking los cuales se harán públicos por medio de este canal.

Subscription to the RDA in Spain Group

Dear members of the RDA in Spain Group,

RDA is an international volunteer member based organisation and as such encourages the initiative and support of its members across the globe to animate their community on a national level. Researchers and innovators are local rather than global. Therefore interacting with them in the local language, offering them a platform for exchange of information suitable to the RDA and their activities, in compliance with RDA's guiding principles, is part of RDA's mission.

RDA EU 4 Spanish Node Kick-off

On September the 20th together with the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) , the RDA Spanish node celebrated its first national event. It has taken place within the 12th RES Users Meeting. The event was organised in collaboration with the University of Valencia.

The session focused on the presentation of the national node to the Spanish Data Science  community. Approximately 100 people attended the round table discussion. The audience included researchers working with HPC technologies, technicians and coordinators. Five representatives of the local authorities, node managers and expert users of RDA participated in the discussion regarding the relevance and future plans for RDA Spain.

Research Scientist in Climate Data Quality Control

We are looking for an engineer/scientist with experience in evaluation and quality control of climate datasets from satellite and in-situ observations, reanalyses, climate predictions and projections, and the products generated from them.

The person will work with other engineers, both at the BSC and at a number of European organisations, ensuring that the datasets in the largest European climate data repository is of the highest quality and complies with the needs for documentation and metadata requirements.
