23 September 2015- BREAKOUT 1 - 11:00
The Publishing Data Workflows Working Group of the Research Data Alliance/World Data System (RDA/WDS) is aiming to provide an analysis of a representative range of existing and emerging workflows and standards for data publishing.
We aim to develop reference models together with a number of practical recommendations that will enable others to build on current and emerging best practices, e.g. to get started in data publishing or to enhance existing services. Ideally, we will cross-pollinate with the Practical Policy and Data Foundation and Terminology WGs to ensure deliverables that are of most use and least duplication of effort.
Agenda:
1. Introduction to the working group (Presenting (tbc): Amy Nurnberger, Varsha Khodiyar and Sunje Dallmeier-Tiessen)
2. Overview of workflows WG work to date
3. Reference models
4. Recommendations
Open discussion and Next Steps
Goals: Agreed upon standardized elements in a basic workflow, with variations to enable the sharing of best practices and lessons learnt across disciplinary, regional or institutional boundaries; registration of elements and attendant definitions in the TeD-T tool
