PID Kernel Information working meeting
A short introduction describing the activities and the scope of the group:
PID Kernel Information is a small amount of information (metadata) about a data object to which a PID refers. This associated information generally resides within or in close proximity to the PID resolution system, that is, is separate from domain specific metadata usually residing at the repository where the data object resides. The PID Kernel Information WG aims to converge through a series of discussions and a narrowing process on the smallest number possible of profiles of PID Kernel Information, building on top of the power of the combined RDA Recommendations on PID Information Types and Data Type Registries.
This working session will inform about the findings and iterations over the strawperson profile presented at P9 by multiple initiatives. The goal of the meeting is to derive a clear understanding of the differences in profile usage and come to an agreement on the core types required for an all-encompassing profile that can be used across multiple scenarios.

* Inform about ongoing evaluation efforts of the strawman profile
* Derive the key content of a widely applicable profile and possible extensions
* Discuss next steps towards a recommended profile to deliver at P11

The topic at hand is of interest to a variety of stakeholders in the areas of data generation, curation and usage. The group’s outputs should be of use to scientific infrastructure providers, client tool builders and scientific users.
