Data Type Registries WG Progress Reports and Outlook
Short introduction describing the activities and the scope of the group:
The first version of the Data Type Registries Working Group closed out last year, wrote its final report, was endorsed as an RDA Recommendation, and the current incarnation was started as a follow-up. The initial DTR WG focused on developing an infrastructural component that would manage data type records. The new WG, DTR #2, will focus on aiding data producers come up with useful data type records.

For further information on the group see:
The object of this breakout is to review the current and planned prototypes and related activities, including a related ISO group, look for overlaps and gaps, and formulate plans for future work.
A brief overview of progress to date will be followed by a series of reports of ongoing projects involving DTR activities, a progress report on a related ISO study group, and future outlook for the group and its activities. We anticipate a full session with contributions from a number of existing projects but will reserve time for additional short presentations and discussions. Anyone interested in contributing should contact Larry Lannom as soon as possible.
The session is open to all interested in the topic of Data Type Registries and the use of data types for all aspects of information management, from discovery through to reuse. Those who have not been following the group are advised to review the background material referenced above.
