I work at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), a transformational initiative that enables Australian research community and industry access to nationally significant, leading edge data intensive eInfrastructure, platforms, skills and collections of high-quality data. In my role as Solutions Architect for the Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences (HASS) and Indigenous Research Data Commons (HASS&I RDC), I lead the design and specification of national capabilities. The role is not focused on solutions within a single enterprise but rather at the level of the entire national HASS and Indigenous research system, and involves assessing current digital HASS and Indigenous capabilities, designing and scoping new data and technology solutions to fit the HASS and Indigenous research environments, and addressing the needs of researchers and research organisations. I apply knowledge of how HASS and Indigenous research and service processes work and how technology systems can be applied in an infrastructure environment. The architecture informs program/project design for ARDC’s own service development as well as ARDC-driven national partnerships and initiatives.
