Michael Arentoft

Currently policy officer in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation dealing with Open Science. Previously Deputy Head of Unit of International Cooperation Strategy and Innovation Union policy officer. Before that Deputy Head of Strategy for ICT R&I in DG Information Society and Media and Sector Head of ICT R&I Work Programme and Planning. Have also been responsible for the coordination of ICT Essential Technologies and Infrastructures. Joined the European Commission as a Project Officer in High Performance Computing and Networking. Industrial background with the Space Division of Computer Resources International in Denmark and with Rovsing International in France. Educational background from the Computer and Information Science PhD program of the University of Pennsylvania, Ivy League Engineering School, USA, and from the Electrical Engineering Master’s program of the Technical University of Denmark.
