Prof Maria Nisheva-Pavlova Coordinator
Maria Nisheva-Pavlova is a Professor, Head of the Department of Computer Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University, Bulgaria, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. She graduated from Sofia University, majoring in Mathematics, Informatics specialization. She obtained her PhD in Computer Science from the Institute of Mathematics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Nisheva-Pavlova has strong background in knowledge based systems, information retrieval, machine learning, semantic technologies, computer algebra systems, functional programming. She specialized in Knowledge Based Systems at the University of Sussex, UK (1992) and in Digital Preservation and Access to Cultural Heritage at Copenhagen University, Denmark (2005). Her latest research is oriented to data analysis and knowledge discovery in heterogeneous datasets. Dr. Nisheva-Pavlova has more than 100 publications in the mentioned areas and has experience in numerous national and EU projects.
