I have worked over 30 years at NIST focused on different aspects, approaches, and standards for integrating systems for manufacturing enterprises. This led to my involvement in standards for semantic technology including the Web Ontology Language (OWL). Current efforts are focused on applying the methods and techniques used in manufacturing to data sharing needs in food production (including agriculture and food supply chains). Related work going on in Ag at RDA motivated my joining.
