Ella Bingham

Ella Bingham's mission is to help the Finnish university sector to succeed in research and societal relevance, and in this way contribute to the wellbeing and competitiveness of the Finnish society. Ella Bingham received her MSc degree in Systems and Operations Research in 1998 and Doctor of Science degree in Computer Science in 2003, both at Helsinki University of Technology (currently known as Aalto University), and the title of Docent in Computer Science in 2009 at the University of Helsinki. Her main research field has been data science and artificial intelligence, in which she has over 30 publications and over 2600 citations (Google Scholar). She is Head of Research Services at Aalto University. Prior to this she was Vice Director of Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT at Aalto University and the University of Helsinki, and the manager of Aalto Digi Platform http://digi.aalto.fi. In addition, she is Executive Director of the Foundation for Aalto University Science and Technology http://aalto.fi/foundation_technology .
