I think the most important, and interesting, aspect of information technology is how it can be used to make the world a better place. In my 20+ year career, I've been privileged to lead teams of 10 to 60 staff members in projects that ranged in budget from $10K to $5M. I like to facilitate learning, so I've presented and given training on a wide variety of subjects including academic and learning technology; technology and strategy; IT governance and management; business intelligence, knowledge management, and analytics; information organization and user experience; as well as technology project management. My current responsibilities keep me busy in the areas of knowledge management, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance (HIPAA), and issues related to big data and analytics in public health research.
