Following an initial career as a researcher in engineering I subsequently moved into project management. I have been directly involved in the preparation of research proposals which have yielded in grant income in the area of education and research. A key aspect of my role involves the management of large funds, formulating and delivering the associated financial and technical reports. I have also developed good experience in the area of business development facilitating the engagement of private and public stakeholders with the aim of building long-term research and training collaborations. I led and/or supported a number of communications initiatives that promote and enhance the visibility of research activities.
