I am a lecturer in physical geography and an earth science researcher at the School of History & Geography on the St Patrick's Campus of Dublin City University, Ireland. I previously held a Marie Curie Fellowship at Lund University, Sweden and two EPA postdoctoral Fellowships in Ireland. I co-ordinate a Google Earth Engine funded research project. My research interests lie at the interface between earth science and earth observation. I focus on the interaction between the atmosphere and terrestrial ecosystems, particularly peatlands, in Temperate, Boreal and Arctic regions. I use geoinformatics and EO Big Data to aid and refine our understanding of carbon dynamics and the effect of human and natural disturbance on natural ecosystems
