I studied particle physics and have a PhD in astroparticle physics. After my PhD in Amsterdam I worked for about a year at CERN, and then left research to join Elsevier. I have been publisher for the high energy physics journals for about 5 years, during which time I have been involved in several project about research data and software. Among other things, I founded the journal SoftwareX, that recognise scientific software as a piece of publishable and citable work.
