Valerie Connor Connor

Valerie Connor is an independent curator and adviser in the visual arts. She lectures in Photography at the Dublin Institute of Photography. She most recently commissioned four art and research projects for the National Women's Council of Ireland, curated the Tulca Festival of Visual Art, Galway, and co-produced a special studio project with Black Church Print Studios. Previously, she was the commissioner for Ireland’s participation at the Venice and São Paulo art biennials, a board member of the Irish Museum of Modern Art and Visual Arts Adviser to the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. Her most recent essay on Irish art since 2000 will appear in the Royal Irish Academy Project Art and Architecture of Ireland co-published by RIA/Yale University Press. She a member of the advisory committee of the National Irish Visual Arts Library and Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the National Campaign for the Arts.
