Dr Joel Minion
Joel Minion trained and worked for more than a decade as a librarian and information manager in Canada before moving to the UK in 2006 to complete a PhD in health informatics at the University of Sheffield. In 2010, he began work as a Research Associate with the SAPPHIRE (Social science APPlied to Healthcare Improvement Research) group at the University of Leicester. In 2012, he became the Senior Research Manager with the Data to Knowledge (D2K) group, also at Leicester. Dr Minion’s main research interests are the use of ethnographic methods in health-related research, the organization of data and information in large research projects, and the information practices of people living with chronic health conditions.
