Ben is currently a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Kent, and also involved in the the University of Kent's Q-Step centre (which I helped found and co-directed until Sep 2016). He has done extensive work on the benefits system, particularly around disability benefits, and for a time in 2015-16 was on secondment as a Policy Advisor at the Department of Work and Pensions.
