Renaud Bouvet

I am the head of the Forensic & Legal Medicine Department in Rennes University Hospital, and I teach forensic & legal medicine and health law at the Faculty of Medicine of the Rennes University. My research team is the Institut du droit public et de la science politique, at the Faculty of law of the Rennes University. I am a French MD, with a PhD in health law, and I have worked on 1. the concept of consent to the medical act, especially to compulsory care; 2. 2. the concept of “medical necessity”, and its evolution, especially in the field of human enhancement ; I am an associate researcher at the research center of the French Army Academy (Ecoles de Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan), Enhanced Soldier research program).
