Dr O'Malley is a Clinical Research Lecturer in The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, based in the Division of Population Health. Her main interests are in the fields of childhood obesity, physical rehabilitation, physical activity and connected health. Clinically, she works as a Chartered Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in paediatrics with a focus on paediatric endocrinology (including obesity) and musculoskeletal medicine. She completed a PhD in Medicine (Epidemiology and Public Health) exploring the integration of mobile-health tools into evidence-based childhood obesity treatment and in specific how remote treatments could be used to manage this chronic condition. She is the Secretary of the EASO Childhood Obesity Task Force and a Committee member of the Association for the Study of Obesity on the Island of Ireland.
