Prof. Dr. Damjana Drobne (female), head of the group for Nanobiology and Nanotoxicology at the University of Ljubljana and professor for (environmental) toxicology and for zoology. Damjana Drobne is a Professor of Zoology and Professor of Toxicology from University of Ljubljana with over twenty-five years of research experiences. She is the founder and principal investigator of a research group for nanobiology and nanotoxicology (http://www.bionanoteam.com/). In co-authorship with national and international colleges she has published more than 100 original scientific publications and many book chapters. Her group was a partner in two large-scale 7.OP EU projects (NanoMile, NanoValid), two RIA Horizon 2020 projects (NanoFase, NANORIGO) and MSCA-ITN-2015 project (Pandora). At a national level, her group was a founder of two national centers of excellence (CO NAMASTE and CO NanoCentre). Since 2001, she is continuously coordinating national research projects. She is an advisor to director of Slovenian Innovation Hub-European Economic Interest Grouping (http://www.sis-egiz.eu/). In 2017, Biotechnical Faculty awarded her by Jesenko Prize in order to recognize her lifetime achievements.
