Jean-Pierre Vilotte is professor at the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris and director of the Parallel Computing and Data Analysis Centre of the Institute. His main research concerns earthquake seismology and wave tomography, computational seismology, statistical signal analysis, interferometry, and seismic source imaging, landslides and dynamics of granular media, parallel computing and data-intensive architectures. He is scientific deputy at the CNRS-INSU for high-performance computing and information technology. He is the PI of the action theme 3 on e-infrastructure of the e-Infrastructure & Data Management informative action of the Belmont Forum, together with the coordinator of the science-driven e-Infrastructure innovation (SEI) for data-use in interdisciplinary a,d trans-disciplinary global global change research, a CRA of the Belmont Forum.
