After teaching in IT and criminal law, I work for the university library to promote open access. Recently my focus shifted towards data protection and data management. Earlier I published on Creative Commons licenses for cultural heritage institutions. Now the Harvard datatags project for machine readable rights expressions on measures for reuse of personal data for research has my interest and we developed a small project in our University of Groningen Human Subject Research Programme. I am also in a team involved in drafting a Dutch code of conduct for the use of personal data in research.
