Julia Colleen Miller, PhD (Linguistics), is the Senior Data Manager for the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language (CoEDL). Miller conducted field work in NE British Columbia for her dissertation on the acoustic properties of lexical tone in the Athabaskan language Dane-zaa (Beaver). Her field recordings make up part of the Beaver Documentation Project archive (http://dobes.mpi.nl/projects/beaver/). Her postdoctoral field recordings on languages of the Morehead District of Papua New Guinea's Western Province, including the Nen and Kómnzo languages, can be found in the Morehead Documentation Project archive (http://dobes.mpi.nl/projects/morehead/). Miller has also worked closely with the PARADISEC archive (http://catalog.paradisec.org.au/) since 2010, and continues to do so, as PARADISEC is the chosen repository for CoEDL (http://www.dynamicsoflanguage.edu.au/).
Current interests are: Curation of digital archives of underdocumented languages and cultures and creating rich, well-structured, accessible corpora
