Ms Sarah Inman
I am currently a PhD student in the Human-Centered Design and Engineering program at the University of Washington. I am researching the ways in which publics and science are co-produced. In particular, I am interested in the sociotechnical practices of distributed collaborative knowledge work, specifically the practices of domain scientists and data scientists. Through this research, I explore the ways in which data mediates the public’s relationship with the environment. I also received a master's degree from Georgetown University, where I conducted an ethnographic study of how citizens engaged with scientific data in the context of extractive industries.
