The Value of the Research Data Alliance to Industry and the Private Sector

By engaging with the RDA, private sector industries have the opportunity to collaborate with a large population of data experts throughout the globe representing various disciplines and professions, which could have immense impact on their own strategy and goals.
Industry collaboration with the RDA could include:
- Encouraging employees/colleagues within your industry to join the RDA and become involved in and/or create Working and Interest groups
- Encouraging attendance from employees/colleagues within the industry to attend RDA Plenary Meetings
- Consider signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the RDA that provides a formal agreement regarding cross-promotion of activities and opportunities
Industries also have the option to fund various RDA programs and activities, such as:
- Joining the RDA as an organisational member and helping influence RDA’s direction while also assisting in the implementation and adoption of RDA’s Recommendations
- Funding the facilitation of new RDA Working or Interest Group that has an industry-related focus through the Engaging with Industry and private sector Framework
- Organising expert roundtable discussions with high impact outputs for the global community
- Establishing RDA data awards/scholarships
- Sponsorship of RDA Plenary Meetings
