What are the challenges that we can solve together?
- engage with stakeholders involved in research data management in general, and data management plan interoperability in particular
- present results from the Exposing DMPs WG
- receive feedback on establishing a Community of Practice
- identify common challenges and plan future joint developments
We invite anyone with an interest in the success of research data management planning to participate. For example, please join us if you are…
-
a researcher – to let us know what you would hope to achieve by sharing some or all of your DMP content with your peers, potential collaborators and service providers, or concerns about the consequences of doing so
-
a DMP platform provider, repository, journal or other service provider – to discuss how well the maDMP standard supports the exchange of information about research projects' data management requirements and anticipated outputs
-
a research funder/ policy maker – to share your expectations of how wider exposure of DMP content may improve the achievement of policy goals towards FAIR outputs
-
a research facilitator - to discuss the institutional support processes that DMP exposure would benefit or otherwise impact on.
No prior preparation is needed, but some familiarity with the provided links is definitely helpful.
Active DMP IG is a forum for discussing requirements for active (i.e. able to evolve and be monitored) data management planning, and identifying developments needed to support this evolution more effectively for all stakeholders in data management planning, including funders, institutions, service providers and research projects.
Exposing DMPs WG is surveying community perspectives and practices around the selective sharing of DMP content, to coordinate and improve data management for researchers who write DMPs, and potentially the broader community. This WG will report its final outputs at P17 Edinburgh.
DMP Common Standard WG developed a standard for machine-actionable plans (maDMP) to better enable exchange of information between the platforms and people involved in implementing a DMP. The group is maintaining its output.
