Group Activities & Scope
This Interest Group aims to introduce and raise awareness around the wider topic of science communication while focusing on science communication for research data, in line with the RDA agenda and vision.
Whether the science communication efforts relate directly to the findability and accessibility of research data, they support the reusability (the F, A and R in FAIR), or aim to increase sharing research outputs or data literacy, the IG targets an understanding of the state of practice for the RDA, what the tools and channels, the professional roles involved and the related skills and incentives to boost these efforts, increase the awareness and benefits.
Short Group Status
During the RDA V22 the group discussed and fine tuned the IG Charter draft for the submission for the Community feedback and the TAB review. In particular, the group looked closely at the mapping of science communication priority topics and how they are reflected in the charter, aiming to pinpoint the group activities and expected outcomes. The latter ones will be the focus of the meeting to be held during the RDA 23rd Plenary.
