Since 2017, the RDA VSSIG’s Ontology Metadata task group studies the question of metadata descroption for ontologies or semantic resource/artefacts in general.

Work by the RDA VSSIG’s Ontology Metadata task group inculde: 

The Vocabulary and Semantic Services Interest Group (VSSIG) seeks to develop community-based approaches and recommendations to make knowledge organization systems (i.e. controlled vocabularies, ontologies, and their associated services) findable, accessible, interoperable, and re-usable (FAIR data principles).

Overlaps with other RDA Groups

Brokering approach and technology deal with challenges and topics laso discussed and addressed by other RDA Groups. These topics include:

• Metadata discovery and harmonizations;
• Semantics assets discovery, access, and intermediation;
• Data access and transformation;
• Variety for Big Data;
• Research Infrastructures enabling;
• Marine Data Harmonization.
