The Call for Sessions for RDA's 22nd Plenary is Now Closed.
Notifications of Decisions on Session Applications Sent Out - Monday, 11 March 2024.
More upcoming deadlines here
VP22 is a fully virtual Plenary meeting scheduled from 14-23 May 2024. RDA groups are invited to submit their session applications using forms on this page. Please keep in mind that the RDA Plenary meetings are working group sessions, so when applying, take into account the need for a well-thought-out agenda, a diverse lineup of speakers, and time for discussion and networking.
VP22 session submission criteria:
Virtual format is a confirmed structure for all sessions in the programme.
Whova is a confirmed platform for the VP22
There are eighteen breakout session slots available over the course of two weeks.
Final breakout sessions can be found below*
We strongly encourage you to hold an additional, repeat live session to accommodate a different time zone.
Repeat sessions can be pre-recorded but session chairs/speakers must be present live to facilitate the session.
Two sessions have to be held in separate weeks.
Past plenary feedback has shown us how long and confusing session titles can be. We strongly encourage you to make your session title brief and short. The title should reflect a concise description of your session content. 7-10 words is the optimal length for a session title.
Please note: Although every attempt will be made to allocate your session [s] to the preferred breakout slot [s], we can not guarantee to accommodate all requests.
Every Plenary session will be applied to one of the pathways (themes). For the VP22, eight pathways were decided upon; further information is available on the pathways webpage. Those who submit sessions will be asked to list up to three possible pathways that their session might (best) fit into.
Group chairs of accepted submissions will be required to register and pay for the VP22. Registration fees are confirmed and available to view.

Are you New to the RDA?
Find out more about breakout session types below.
- Working, Interest Group and Community of Practice Sessions and Joint Meetings: the meeting format is typically interactive and informational, giving both group members and new RDA members an opportunity to learn about the groups’ objectives and progress to date and in achieving deliverables, while also collaborating to determine and implement next steps regarding adoption and other related activities.
- Birds of a Feather: provide members an opportunity to consider potential topics that could be recommended for the creation of new Working and/or Interest groups. Topics should be sufficiently distinct from the work of existing groups or BoFs held at recent plenaries.
Details and highlights of previous plenary meetings are available in the RDA Plenary Meetings.
