Back to Plenary 20th

The Call for Sessions for RDA's 20th Plenary is now Open.

The Research Data Alliance 10th anniversary Plenary Meeting is organised as a hybrid event and is scheduled to take place 21-23 March 2023 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

After two years of virtual plenaries and a successful hybrid Plenary 19, we are delighted to hold the 20th Plenary (P20) as a face-to-face event with both in-person and online participation. Details on the conference venue will be announced soon. P20 will include all the main elements of our typical plenary events (plenary sessions, breakout sessions, networking events, etc.).

All P20 sessions will be held in hybrid format and broadcast to virtual participants; virtual participants will be able to join any session and interact with in-person attendees. Please note, fully virtual sessions will not take place at P20.

In addition to the live sessions at the conference venue, P20 will be held on an event platform. Once the platform is confirmed, all registered participants will be able to view the program, access live-streamed presentations of the speakers, links to the various sessions and their recordings.

The P20 breakout sessions and times have not yet been finalised. The submission process has therefore been slightly modified and the submission form will include morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) blocks instead of breakouts with precise times. You will need to select your preferred day together with AM or PM time slot according to the table below:

Please note that there will be no fully virtual sessions. All sessions will be held at the venue and broadcast to the online audience via the event platform.

Repeat sessions will also not be held during the 20th Plenary.

How to submit your session application

Please submit your session application using the forms below by Monday 31 October 2022

Notifications of Session Acceptance will be sent out by Thursday 15 December 2022.

You will receive an email confirmation of submission after saving your application. Please note, the message has info in it for Plenary 19. We are updating this confirmation message, but please know, we have received your application for the 20th Plenary.

New to RDA?

Find out more about breakout session types below.

  • Working, Interest Group and Community of Practice Sessions and Joint Meetings: the meeting format is typically interactive and informational, giving both group members and new RDA members an opportunity to learn about the groups’ objectives and progress to date and in achieving deliverables, while also collaborating to determine and implement next steps regarding adoption and other related activities.
  • Birds of a Feather: provide members an opportunity to consider potential topics that could be recommended for the creation of new Working and/or Interest groups. Topics should be sufficiently distinct from the work of existing groups or BoFs held at recent plenaries.

Questions or concerns related to the Call for Sessions can be sent to secretariat@rda-foundation.org
